This includes:

Investment Manager Fee, which covers their professional investment management expertise, intellectual property, research, analysis, modelling, asset allocation, and buying and selling decisions. This fee is deducted directly from your investment account.

The Indirect Cost, which is an estimate of underlying charges of some of the holdings the investment manager may invest in, such as ETFs and managed funds. These charges are automatically deducted by those funds, rather than coming out of your account.

The OpenInvest Fee covers all costs of administering your portfolio, including updating your portfolio - based on decisions of your chosen investment manager - and detailed reporting. This fee is deducted directly from your investment account.

A Transaction Cost is an underlying charge levied by an ETF or managed fund when you buy into or sell out of a fund.

Four promises about our fees

1. No hidden fees or charges, ever:
We won't charge you for simply going about your business, including things like getting a statement, transferring money, changing investment managers or portfolio models, or closing your account. Please note that if your portfolio includes any managed funds, their buy/sell spread will be passed on.

2. You keep your interest – all of it:
Other investment platforms take a serious clip of the interest your money earns sitting in cash (and only mention this in the fine print) but we never will. We'll get you the best interest rate we can and you keep 100% of it. After all, it's YOUR money.

3. We pay for brokerage:
If you've done your own share trading, you'd know that you pay brokerage on every trade. That adds up. OpenInvest has decided to absorb that cost.

4. Maximum value, always:
While your fee covers everything OpenInvest already does, we’re not going to rest on our laurels. We’re committed to improving what we offer without charging you any more for future enhancements.
